PWP Lite is ideal for those who want to learn more about the fundamentals of photography in a quick and professional format. At IPS we pride ourselves on a low student:instructor ratio and our ability to work with each student at their own level. PWP Lite allows students who have no background in photography to bring their digital or film cameras and walk away with the ability to capture outstanding images.

On Day One students will dive into the basics of composition and have the opportunity of practicing these principles in the field under the guidance of highly experienced IPS instructors. Students will then return to the classroom and continue to learn essential photographic principles of lighting and exposure. At the end of the day, student images will be reviewed and practical tips given on how to improve their pictures.

The second day students will once again field-test their knowledge on a photo shoot with IPS instructors. While this film is being processed, breakout sessions will probe the details of classic portraiture and cutting-edge digital imaging. Finally, the day is wrapped up with another review and critique session covering that morning’s images.

PWP Lite enables students to choose either the full two-day training or just two breakout sessions. Amateur photographers who desire to brush up on their skills may attend the portraiture or digital imaging break-out sessions without signing up for the full two-day workshop.

Photographers who desire more intensive learning and personalized instruction also have the option of an additional day with IPS instructors for practical workshops covering on-location portraiture and an afternoon personal portfolio critique.
